CSU Students Won Gold Award in 2014 China College Students' Entrepreneurship Competition

On November 4, the China College Students' Entrepreneurship Competition in 2014, organized by the Communist Youth League of China, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the China Association for Science and Technology, All-China Students Federation and the People’s Government of Hubei Province, dropped the curtain at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Four of the five entries from CSU were shortlisted for the final, among which the project "Hunan Risa Environmental Technology Co., Ltd" won the gold award and other three entries won the silver awards. Meanwhile, the entry that failed to reach the final obtained the bronze award. CSU was therefore awarded as “National Excellent Organization”.
Due to its good public welfare, entrepreneurship and practicality, the project “Hunan Risa Environmental Technology Co., Ltd” of CSU won the gold award in social entrepreneurship competition. The project is mainly engaged in recycling and reclamation technology of waste batteries, production and sales of such battery materials as cobalt oxide and nickel hydroxide, thereby having established a diversified waste battery recycling pattern. Currently this entrepreneur team owns 8 national patents and has conducted public welfare green protection activities and field research for four consecutive years when they have installed more than 500 recycling bins and recycled over 130,000 waste batteries. Besides, the China Youth Daily, Hunan TV and other media outlets have given wide coverage to this project.
